7 Weeks Out to the Train of Pain‏

Here it is, our final day – the path back to where it all began….but not a direct path – there is some last day fun involved for those still able and game:

As you can see it’s all easy; except where it’s hard.

We’ll sneak out of Santa Rosa before the local barmen realize we’ve run out on our tabs, roll past the back door of Sonoma State University skirt the edge of Petaluma before our assault on the climb up to Alpine Lake – this will be the final rated assent of the ride for those of you still looking for the King of the Mountain points

After descending, the plan is to regroup @ the Mill Valley Peets Coffee before the grand parade back across the Golden Gate Bridge; this will allow plenty of time to regale the local Mill Valley want-a-be riders with stories of our epic endeavor…

There will be just one shortcut available; but it will elimate the big climb of the day.
