35 Days - Routes

This Post Courtesy Carter Goodnough

Gents.

We are now at just 5 weeks to go before the ride start and I hope everyone is getting plenty of saddle time – remember; if you don’t – you’ll pay for it on the road. The route is now complete with each-day, turn-by-turn directions, now posted here. I also plan on distributing route cards in San Francisco the day before, each will be laminated and will fit in a jersey pocket. In a pinch, they can also be used as a make-shift rainshelter, as a reflective beacon for signaling aircraft, and are accepted as currency for beer in Pismo Beach.

The hotels are all booked, and are as follows:

San Francisco - "Gold in Peace, Iron in War"

Lombard Motor Inn

www.lombardmotorinn.com

Santa Cruz - "Surf City USA"

Continental Inn

www.ContinentalInnSantaCruz.com

Big Sur - "Dude. Check out that Whale."

Big Sur Lodge

Pismo Beach - "Classic California"

Sandcastle Inn

Santa Barbara - "American Riviera"

Days Inn

The bike transportation is also set, with the van carrying our steeds scheduled to leave my house on the night of May 17th, arriving in San Francisco on the 18th. More info will follow as we get closer on the plans for each of you to get your bikes to my house for loading. And lastly, our transportation home from the ride’s end point has also been arranged. Vehicles will meet us and off we’ll go; on our separate ways but forever linked in bicycling brotherhood. Or something like that.

So basically it’s all done – all we have left to do is train, and look forward to the adventure…
