IT’S THAT TIME; PACKING TIME!

Salesman, “Have you thought much about luggage, Mr. Banks?”

Joe, “No”

Salesman, “It’s the Central Preoccupation of my life”

Ok, bonus points to whoever can recall the classic these lines come from; until then, it’s time to make a central preoccupation for you as well. In this case, what do I bring, where do I bring it.

First the what; below is a general list of items you should be thinking of. By all means, add to it as you see fit, but remember, space is not unlimited. There will be a minimum of 30 bags being transported daily – add to that the coolers, food, tools, tires, water, and such that will be in each of the vans – it doesn’t take long to reach critical mass.

For the bikes, if yours is being transported up in the vans they will need to be dropped off at Kevin's house by 6:00 pm on Friday. For the OC, you’ll drop them off at Bobbo’s house NO LATER than 09:30 am on Saturday. Gene and I will be swinging by there to load them by about 10:00 am. If you are traveling up on the train on Sunday, please carry your bags with you: we’ll be offloading the vans on Saturday night and I want to limit how much I have to stuff into rooms.

I hope that by now everyone is pretty excited for the kick off - I know that we are. Kevin will be in Santa Barbara by about 1:00 PM on Saturday – Carter a few hours later. Once you get to town, please give me a call.

There is an easy spin planned for Sunday morning, should be about 40 miles or so; for now, plan on about an 8:00 am rollout.
