Day 2:
Let the true fun begin:

When checking out the day 2 route; please note that the section from Cazadero to Stewart-Skaggs Springs on Kings Ridge Rd is reputed to be one of the best stretches of cycling road anywhere; true NorCal riding nectar – with some incredible views.
And what could be better than looking forward to a must stop at mile 10 of the day’s route; Freestone Bakery home to GREAT sticky buns – a few of you may never leave.
No need to pack and schlep luggage to van – we return to the Bodega Coast Inn for a 2nd night
Total miles @ 99.6, with 3 shortcuts available – 2 offering the opportunity to cut miles, while one eliminates a climb. The day includes 2 BIG climbs, both which will seem to go on for miles (because they do); but remember big climbs = long descents, and we have those as well.
I will admit that there is nothing, and I mean nothing between the Cazadero General Store (Mile 28) and the Stewarts Point General Store (Mile 62). That is a big stretch of tough riding and the owner of the Stewarts Point Store closes on a whim whenever the fishing and surfing are good. But not to worry – the vans will be out, and both loaded for bear to keep us fueled for the run back towards Bodega Bay…as well as offering rides to those in need.
And as an added bonus: A short section of hard packed dirt riding in honor of the European spring classics.
Like I said; ‘let the true fun begin’…
