One Last Posting...

…with some final comments on my part.

I hope you all enjoyed the closing ceremonies this past Saturday at Paladar; our M.C. Mr. Matt Myers was in rare form, and the excellent fare was provided by soon to be internationally renowned Chef Iain Naystatt, with no small help from his assistants Kevin & Margaret. Axe and Jeff you were missed…

First let me say a huge “Thank You” to everyone – the trip would not have been the same without you. Originally my thought was that it would just be myself and perhaps one or two others making the journey, but over time more and more of you expressed interest and then the commitment to making it an epic adventure – so again: “Thank You”, I was glad to have each of you along! The eclectic gathering of talent was awesome & very impressive.

Secondly, this is the first time I’ve endeavored to organize a trip of this sort, so any comments/feedback would be helpful and much appreciated. Feel free to address anything; from my route cards to the length of each day’s stage, distance between support stops, or even the sometimes mindless banter of the BLOG. I’m fairly thick skinned so let it fly if there was something you didn’t like… Comments about the weather will be forwarded to a higher authority.

Also, my plan is to very soon get each of you a CD of all the photos from the ride. Colin and I are working on an edited edition of the one shown at the pizza party, so towards that end if you have any additional images please get them to us ASAP.

Thank you also for the signed Train of Pain t-shirt – it was a nice touch.

Kevin and Colin, your help was tremendous, and has not gone unnoticed – great job.

And lastly, I’d be sorely mistaken if I didn’t draw attention once again to the one person this ride could not have done without : Dennis Sheean, who raced up and down the Central Coast with reckless abandon, even calling in reinforcements when needed. “Thank you Dennis.”

Remember you are the ‘Charter 13’ and will always be welcome on any ride I take.
